The Japanese bearing brand WTW originated from Wada Seiko, founded in 1934 in Sakai, Osaka. The founder and first president of the company was Tetsuro Wada, and initially, the company was named Wada Tekkojo, primarily manufacturing bicycle components. In 1946, Wada Tekkojo started producing and selling single-row radial bearings under the WTW brand. In 1954, with the rapid growth of the bearing business and expansion of production capacity, the company was renamed Wada Seiko Co., Ltd. By 1959, Wada Seiko had obtained certification according to the Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS).
In 1968, Yoshinobu Wada became the second president of Wada Seiko and is still the current president. In 1973, Wada Seiko expanded its production and sales of synthetic resin material products. This division of product manufacturing is reflected in the two factories of Wada Seiko today. The founding factory in Sakai, Osaka, produces bearing products, while the Orito factory, established in 1981 and relocated to Kaizuka, Osaka in 2004, manufactures engineering plastic products.
