OLIES

In April 1939, Sozo Kawasaki established the "Nippon Oilless Bearing Laboratory" in Ota-ku, Tokyo, to manufacture and sell "self-lubricating bearings." In 1952, the Nippon Oilless Bearing Laboratory Co., Ltd. was founded, and in 1958, the company was renamed Nippon Oiles Industry Co., Ltd. In 1962, the company opened the Yamato Factory in Kanagawa Prefecture to produce and sell "OILES bearing plates" for bridge bearings. Subsequently, the company established the Fujisawa Factory, Shiga Factory, Ashikaga Factory, and Oita Factory in Japan.

Oiles' internationalization began in 1979 with the establishment of Oiles America Corporation. Since then, the company has set up subsidiaries or factories in Germany and the Czech Republic in Europe, as well as in India, Thailand, South Korea, and China in Asia. Among all the overseas countries where Oiles has invested, China has the most branch offices, including a factory in Songjiang, Shanghai, a sales company in Xuhui District, and a factory in Suzhou. Oiles was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in September 1997.

The three main business segments of the Oiles Group are bearing equipment, structural equipment, and construction equipment. The bearing equipment business includes self-lubricating bearings, high-performance mold products using self-lubricating bearings, linear guides using oilless bearings, and self-lubricating air bearings with nano-level precision, ultra-high speed, and friction coefficients close to zero.

Oiles' longstanding business philosophy is to become the world's leading comprehensive manufacturer of oilless bearings and serve society through technology. Speaking of technology innovation and the number of patents, Oiles Group currently holds 3,083 global patents, including 1,478 foreign patents.
