NKE

In the autumn of 1988, SKF, a Swedish bearing company, acquired a bearing enterprise called Steyr Wälzlager in Austria. In 1992, a group of executives from the original company decided to leave SKF and established a bearing company known as NKE. In 1996, NKE was officially registered as a global bearing brand. Over the next two decades, NKE expanded its manufacturing capacity and established a global sales network. With 18 sales offices and over 240 distributors in more than 60 countries worldwide, NKE has been able to sell its bearings globally. NKE's product line is quite extensive, ranging from ball bearings to tapered roller bearings, and from deep groove ball bearings to self-aligning bearings. They offer a variety of bearing types, including radial bearings, thrust bearings, single-row bearings, double-row bearings, and even mounted bearings. The thickness of NKE's bearing catalog reflects the diversity of their products. As a young medium-sized bearing company, NKE focuses on industrial applications. In 2017, NKE established a sales company in Shanghai to facilitate business development in China.

In 2016, a significant milestone for NKE occurred when Fersa, a Spanish bearing company, acquired a 49% stake in NKE, forming a strategic partnership. I am quite familiar with Fersa, which primarily focuses on automotive bearing applications and is quite competitive in that field. The logic behind Fersa's acquisition is evident: the global integration of Fersa's automotive bearings with NKE's industrial bearings. In terms of manufacturing, both Fersa and NKE have factories in China, as well as logistics centers worldwide, providing opportunities for channel expansion, sales, and manufacturing capacity growth.

Following the strategic partnership, the Fersa Group, composed of Fersa and NKE, has four factories and research centers worldwide. They have one factory and research center in Austria, one in Spain, and two in China (Jiaxing and Shenyang). The group also has seven logistics centers located in the United States, Brazil, Austria, Spain, Russia, and China.
