IKS is a Japanese niche brand. The company is known as Izumimoto Seiko Kabushiki Kaisha. It was established in 1948 in Osaka, Japan. The company was named after its founder, Nobuharu Izumimoto. Initially, IKS manufactured and sold bearing components. In 1953, five years after its founding, the company started producing and selling small-sized bearings under the IKS brand.
In 1957, 1961, and 1963, Izumimoto Seiko successfully expanded into the Asian, European, and American markets, respectively, in addition to Japan. In 1974, IKS established its subsidiary, IKS America. At the end of the last century, IKS also established IKS China in Tianjin.
