The Asahi brand is a dominant brand in the segmented market of mounted spherical roller bearings. It originated from Asahi Seiko Co., Ltd., a Japanese company established in Osaka in 1928. Since 1962, Asahi Seiko has received strong support from Nachi-Fujikoshi Corp. and engaged in close business cooperation.
Asahi Seiko experienced the devastation of World War II but rose again from the ruins and ashes. The year 1951 marked a turning point in Asahi Seiko's history. As a pioneer and the first manufacturer in Japan to produce mounted bearings, Asahi Seiko dedicated itself to the standardization of mounted bearing technology and quality standards. Engineers gradually improved the design parameters of bearing units and added their own patents. The unique features of Asahi Seiko's ball bearing units include a combination of locking and loose fits between the outer ring of the bearing and the bore of the bearing housing. This not only allows the bearing to self-align correctly but also prevents the outer ring from rotating. Although since the late 1970s, their factories have also produced machinery and air clutches, brakes, and linear motion products, Asahi Seiko is widely recognized as a specialized manufacturer of mounted bearings in the bearing industry.
Currently, Asahi Seiko produces nine major series of mounted spherical roller bearings, including bearing housings, spherical roller bearings, joint bearings, and rod end bearings. The bearing housings are made of materials such as cast steel, cast iron, engineering plastics, stainless steel, and stamped steel. The bearings have two types of inner holes, cylindrical and tapered, and are fixed to the shaft using methods such as setscrews, eccentric locking collars, and adapter sleeves. Asahi's corporate philosophy is simple and down-to-earth, believing that professionalism is the best. They strive to provide customers with a wide range of bearing products that are of excellent quality and affordable price. They aim to satisfy and reassure customers by delivering the best quality and service.
In 1990, Asahi Seiko established AMI Bearings Inc. in the United States, focusing on business operations and distribution channels in the North American market. They set up sales subsidiaries in Shenzhen, China, and India, while establishing numerous distribution channels in Oceania, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Central and South America to sell Asahi Seiko's products worldwide.
